    Quilt made of three widths of hand woven wool in a twill weave of light yellow brown cotton warp and dark grayish brown wool weft. Filled with a wool batt. Backing is two widths of (lighter than) deep red, black and white cotton print. Hand quilted through all layers with dark grayish brown cotton thread in vertical and horizontal rows at the sides and diagonal rows through the center. Binding is worn away leaving batting exposed at edges. The cotton fabric is worn away in many places. Embroidered initials in red thread at one corner P.O.L. [?]. [All National Bureau of Standards colors].

    Pair of deep reddish orange hand-knit wool socks. Knit in tubular stockinette stitch increasing to flared top; heel and top band (2 1/2 cm) in cable stitch. Irregulary faded, numerous moth holes, worn along folds, stained. ID Number 1985.183.5.A has a darned-in foot with white cotton thread. ID Number 1985.183.5.B has a darned-in foot with red cotton thread.

    This rectangular Ojibwe finger-woven wool yarn bag has a brownish gray nettle fiber warp and tan, orange, black, pink and green wool yarn wefts which form three wide horizontal bands of geometric patterns on either side. The bottom seam is sewn with commercial tan thread; there are no side seams. A yellowed paper tag tied to the rim is marked "HD Ayers/ MADE OF NETTLE FIBER/ WARP/ WOOF MADE OF RAVELLED YARN/ BLANKET BAG" and stamped "MILLE LACS/ INDIAN TRADING POST/ ONAMIA, MINNESOTA". Woven on a non-tension loom.
