    Brass, triple twist military bugle with a leather shoulder strap. This is an example of the M1894 bugle in B flat, or "Trench" bugle, which has no tuning slide. The bugle was manufactured for the military under the specification #1152 by William H. Horstmann Company, Philadelphia Depot, on June 23, 1916. The leather carrying strap is torn and has an added metal clip attached to one of the bugle's strap rings. Used by Bugler Theodore J. Schauer during the First World War. Schauer worked as a tent maker at Brown & Bigelow in St. Paul, Minnesota, before and after his military service.
